Beaver Mountain is now featured on "Home Talk Tours" by Andersen Windows! The Home Talk Tours website is designed to let clients virtually walk through a home on their computer screen. The site also has information about how to choose a builder, what to look for, questions to ask and links to help with the interviewing process. This weekend is another Open House weekend! That means in addition to our regular hours (Monday-Saturday 8:30am-4:30pm) we're also hosting special events hours! Plus you can attend our Mill Tour, Log Building Workshop and/or Home Planning Seminar (register now for those events!)

Saturday, May 10 will start out with a tour of our manufacturing facility. Located just 8 miles away from our Design Center, the Manufacturing Facility tour will show you what sets Beaver Mountain apart from the rest of the industry. We'll cover full log vs. half log building systems, you'll get the opportunity to see where your home will be produced and will get your questions answered by our team of professionals! We'll also discuss kiln drying, grading, log species and engineering. A drystacked home will be on display for you to walk through (and yes, it is a client's actual home and not just something we put up for the tour!) Immediately following the tour you'll be invited to the Log Building Workshop where you'll see firsthand how a Beaver Mountain goes together!

Then after the Mill Tour & Log Building Workshop, you can attend our Home Planning Seminar. It's everything you need to get started with your new home project!

This weekend holds our big spring Open House!

Our Model Homes and Design Center will be open Monday-Saturday as well as Sunday, April 13, from 9:00am-4:00pm. We invite you to come with your questions or just to browse!

The May 2008 issue of Country's Best Log Homes features an article entitled "Creating the Personal Touch" that focuses on specialty rooms. The loft/bonus room of Beaver Mountain's Classic Lodge floorplan was one of the rooms highlighted. The description reads, "This bonus room above the garage functions as the perfect hobby space, but can also serve as guest quarters or a playroom. The size (414 square feet), versatility, and convenient location make it a true bonus room."

Mill Tour & Log Building Workshop
This is your opportunity to tour our Manufacturing Facility. You will learn how we handle our logs with TLC (total log care) as they are kiln-dried, stored, milled into a double tongue-and-groove profile, and shipped to your site! We will demonstrate how our logs are precision pre-cut and numbered, graded, and then dry-stacked for quality assurance; we will assemble a log building row by row, and much more!

Home Planning Seminar
Preparing for a log home is a grand undertaking, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Our seminar gives you the knowledge and the resources to successfully plan your new log home, including how to research the log home industry, how to chose a builder, what you should consider when looking for/creating a floorplan, and how Beaver Mountain provides the ultiamte buying experience and is ready to help you every step of the way. You will be given a free home planning workbook to take home that goes into much more detail.

Q: Can Beaver Mountain design a home plan that is uniquely ours?

A: Yes, of course we can!

Every Beaver Mountain home is unique. We custom craft each home individually and take pride in the fact that we offer a full service in-house design staff with over 80 years combined experience.

Although many companies say they custom design, they often offer a "standard plan" to change. We believe that your house should be as unique as you are and that you should not be restricted to modifying an existing plan. We start with a blank screen and encourage you to bring in your ideas, thoughts, and dreams. We'll take it from there.

A good place to begin thinking about your new custom home is by flipping through log home and timber frame home magazines. Tear out pictures of living spaces, roof lines, exterior looks and interior features that you like and store them in a 3-ring binder. You can also bring in pictures of your land, along with any restrictions you know of (especially if you are planning to build in a development). Another good resource is our Seasons of the Dream planning guide, which includes 39 floorplans to help inspire you!

When you work with a Beaver Mountain designer, you get individual attention. Our designers take your ideas and can help to compile those into the home of your dreams! You get to watch as your home takes shape right in front of your eyes; you may even see 3-D exteriors of your home and 360 degree views of the rooms inside!

We take the extra step to make sure that your home meets state building codes, even offering to have plans approved by a professional engineer or architect!

Best of all, at Beaver Mountain there is no additional charge for a custom design! After the preliminary drawings are finished, most people are ready to move onto the next step to get their approval drawings ordered so that they can start getting quotes from builders.

Last Friday, December 7, company members and their guests gathered at The Silo Restaurant for Beaver Mountain's annual Christmas party.

After the wonderful seafood buffet dinner, Kellie and Kristie Clark led the popular gift exchange.

And Ken and Karen Clark were honored for their leadership and service to Beaver Mountain and its people for the last 25 years. Here's to many, many more!

"There are so many other reasons we should complement Beaver Mountain, but I think the most resounding compliments come from the contractors we had on the project. Our builder was constructing a Beaver Mountain Log Home for the first time after constructing many others from different manufacturers. He was skeptical about the precut package. He isn't any more. He thought they would have to make numerous field adjustments...not one. He's hooked. We heard it over and over from the roofer in the beginning to the gutter installer last week. 'Who made this house?' 'I have never worked on a log home this well built.' 'This house is so square!' And my personal favorite, 'This house is top-quality; it must have cost a fortune.' So we have been taking your compliments for you with a smile and a 'yeah, we know.'

One Couple's Log Home Journey...Part 2

"This is the largest investment we have made and years of hearing what happened the this person or that person...I really was waiting for disaster to strike. Then there was the beam through the cathedral space that wasn't supposed to be there. We went by the job site on a Saturday afternoon to find this beam installed where we did not want a beam at all. Queue the drama...

I called Chris bright and early Monday; he remembered us expressing we did not want the beam. We talked with Mike and two new logs were milled and delivered to the site the next day! I was blown-away, what was that? That is the Beaver Mountain experience. I went from crazy person to completely relaxed after that moment for the rest of the project. We knew we were in good hands. It felt like we had all the assurance in the world that this was going to be exactly the house we dreamed about. Oh, and it is."
